For the Republicans, 34 of Maryland’s 37 delegates to the Republican National Convention are tied to today’s primary.

8:30 p.m. NBC News, CNN, and Fox News project Barack Obama the winner of the Democratic Maryland primary—the 21st state he has carried so far, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

8:30 p.m. NBC News, CNN, and Fox News also project John McCain the winner of the GOP Maryland primary. McCain has now won 15 states, compared to 11 for Romney and 8 for Huckabee.
